Connect with KU
An annual brainstorming and meet-and-greet for faculty and community organizations. The goal of Matchmakers is to create service learning collaborations that address the needs of the community while enhancing students' education and civic engagement.
The Student Involvement & Leadership Center (SILC) and the Center for Service Learning (CSLR) collaborate to offer the SFC Service Partnership. The purpose of the SFC Service Partnership is to support the development and goals of KU fraternities and sororities while addressing community needs and building meaningful relationships with non-profit agencies in the Lawrence community.
CSL offers several $500 Service Learning Mini-Grant Awards each semester to support best practices in service learning and mutually beneficial campus-community partnerships. Grants are awarded to faculty on a competitive basis.
The Service Celebration honors and recognizes community organizations whose efforts are vital to the existence of service efforts at KU. A Recognition Program honors community partner organizations and a Student Service Poster Showcase highlights the best student volunteer and service learning efforts of the year. The Service Celebration is open to all KU students, staff, faculty, and all community partners.
Our Center staff are available to brainstorm and plan possible connections between KU faculty instructors and their courses with interested community organizations and agencies. Contact us to arrange a meeting.
